Formal wedding etiquette, as you might guess, is a little more prescribed than more casual affairs. The guidelines cover everything from the engagement to the reception and can feel a bit overwhelming. The good news is that the trick to getting things right is educating yourself and continuing to follow the practical etiquette rules of courtesy and consideration.

The ministers are also able to solemnize marriages in their registered buildings. If a minister or a Free Church is not registered under the Marriage Act, then he may conduct the wedding service with the presence of the superintendent registrar.
The wedding couple may also attend a Church wedding service and a civil ceremony conducted by the superintendent registrar separately so that their marriage is legal. Whether the minister is authorized or not, the service must be conducted in a registered building, even if it is a civil ceremony with the presence of the superintendent registrar, it still needs to be conducted in a registered building. After the wedding couple has exchanged marriage vows, they have to sign on the register and also acknowledged by two witnesses.
For your invitations to a Church wedding, formal wedding, or black tie wedding, it is nothing less than essential to note the dress code on the invitation. This means that women attending should wear a long evening dress; men should wear tuxedos. In Christian tradition, the bride’s side is the left looking from the back of the church. In Jewish tradition, it’s the right. Elders of the family should be seated near the front along with the immediate family. However, parents, grandparents, and children do not take their seats until just before the processional, with the mother of the bride seated last. Hint: give the ushers a list of who’s who so they can simply check the name and then seat accordingly.
